EMA MTV 2017′ Nominated Wizkid And Davido For Best African Act2017

ema
The 2017 edition of the MTV EMA Awards is here and Wizkid and David are currently gunning for the Best African Act alongside other African artistes.

From the list published today, American singer Taylor Swift leads the nominees list with a total of five nominations, including Best Video for Look What You Made Me Do.

The usual suspects lead the pop category, while the Best Hip Hop category is totally dominated by male acts, which include Drake, Eminem, Future, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone.

Meanwhile, Rita Ora will host the award ceremony on November 12 in London, and the voting link is already up for fans to chose their favourites.

So, Wizkid or Davido? We’ll see how this plays out!

The rivalry between Wizkid and Davido dates back to 2013 and once again the heavyweights will be engaging in a battle for dominance as they have both been nominated in the category for the Best African Artiste in the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards along with South Africa’s – Babes Wodumo & Nasty C, Angola’s – C4 Pedro and Kenya’s – Nyashinksi.

2017 has been a great year for both artistes as they have independently recorded massive successes both locally and globally.

Davido is credited to have the two hottest African pop songs of 2017 IF and Fall and The singer also collaborated with Rapper – Young Thug and American rap group – Rae Sremmurd on his third release themed ‘Pere’.

The completion of his ’30 Billion World Tour’ which took singer to 30 cities across the world is also a very applaudable feat.

Davido has definitely had a great run in 2017.

Wizkid on the other hand has been on a rollercoaster of ‘records-smashing’. From becoming the most streamed African artist on Spotify to releasing an international tape [Sounds From the Other Side], snagging a gold recognition in Canada for Come Closer [featuring Drake], landing in the Guinness book of record for his contribution on the most streamed song on Spotify worldwide and most recently becoming the first African artiste to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the list of his achievements is endless.

Wizkid has equally had a fabulous run this year.
